The commemorative coins continue the series "Maritime History of Ukraine" reflecting the history of navigation and shipbuilding on the territory of our country. Shipbuilding, which is one of the main productive industries of the ancient Greek cities on the northern coast of the Black Sea, contributed greatly to the technological advancement of the then society leading to the development of mathematics, construction engineering, natural sciences, etc. Southern Crimea was for almost two millennia a node of maritime trade and intensive navigation.

(5/hryvnias) in German silver (together with the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine).
Reverse : On both coins on the left there is a conventionalized image of the prora, that is, the bow of the ship, often depicted on ancient Greek and Roman coins as a seafaring symbol; At the top right is an old sailing ship and at the bottom, in the wide meander, is the conventionalized inscription ??????? / ????????????? (Antiquity / navigation).
