The coins are dedicated to the 400th anniversary of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the Hetman of Ukraine, an outstanding statesman, political and military figure of the 17th century, who made a significant contribution to the formation of the Ukrainian state in one of the most dramatic periods of the liberation war from Ukraine. people in 1648-1654

Obverse is the small state emblem of Ukraine in the middle of the beaded circumference decoration, framed with sprays of guelder roses. Above the state emblem is the year of issue: 1996. Around the circumference of the coin there are inscriptions: ??????? - up and 1 ??????? ????????????? - down in three lines. To the left and right of figure 1 are designations of Àg 925 and 15.55, pure peso coins.

Reverse : In the center, there is the photographic image of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky monument on Sophia Square in Kiev. Around the circumference there is an inscription ?????? on the left, ???????????? - on the right, 1595-1657 - on a pedestal background.
