Description

On the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Thyssen-Bornemizsa Museum, the National Mint and Stamp Factory-Royal Casa de la Moneda dedicates to it the fifth issue of this collection called Treasures of Spanish Museums.

The complete collection is made up of five coins: 8 gold escudos, a silver fiftieth and 3 pieces of 8 reales in silver.

Each of the pieces, minted in proof quality, presents different designs on the front and back, which represent a small sample of some of the most emblematic works preserved in this museum. All of them are presented in elegant jewelry cases and can be purchased individually, or in collection format, including the complete collection of five coins, or the silver collection, made up of four pieces.

The obverse of this coin represents a color image of the work "Hotel Room" made by Edward Hopper in 1931, while the reverse reproduces an image of the work "The Lost Trail" by Charles Ferdinand Wimar.

The first piece offers on its obverse a color image of the work "Venus and Cupid" by Pedro Pablo Rubens between 1606 and 1611. On its reverse an image of the work "The Virgin and Child with Saint Rose of Viterbo" is reproduced. made by Murillo around 1670.

The obverse of the second coin reproduces in color an image of the work entitled "Amazon from the Front" made by Édouard Manet around 1882, and the reverse presents an image of the work "Portrait of David Lyon" by Thomas Lawrence around 1825.

The third piece of this metric represents on the obverse, a color image of the work "Bottle and Fruit Bowl" by Juan Gris in 1919, while on the reverse an image of the work titled "Bailarina basculando (Green Dancer)" made by Edgar Degas between 1877 and 1879.
