American Women Quarters 2022 Ornament - Anna May Wong

From 2022 to 2025, this historic program celebrates the achievements and contributions of prominent women in the United States. All honorees, representing diverse ethnic, racial, and geographic backgrounds, distinguished themselves in a wide variety of fields and endeavors, including suffrage, civil rights, abolition, government, humanities, science, space, arts and many others.
Anna May Wong left a lasting legacy for Asian American women in the entertainment industry. His career spanned film, television and theatre. He appeared in more than 60 films, including silent films and one of the first made in Technicolor. He also appeared in productions on the London and New York stages. Throughout his career, he championed the need for greater representation and more multidimensional roles for Asian American actors.
This keepsake ornament is exquisitely designed and handcrafted in solid brass with rhodium finish. The intricate design elements honor Wong's long and notable career in the film industry as an actor, director and producer: they include the elements of a clapboard, theatrical lighting, the film surrounding the coin and marquee lighting. She was also a fashion influencer as one of the first “flappers” and opposed racial stereotypes in the film industry and her own filmography.
Framed by the ornament is a 2022 quarter with the reverse (tails) design featuring a close-up image of Anna May Wong with her head resting on her hand, surrounded by the bright lights of a marquee sign. The inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, “QUARTER DOLLAR” and “ANNA MAY WONG”. The obverse (head side) of the coin is not visible. This unique ornament is beautifully protected by matching packaging featuring ANNA MAY WONG, 2022 and the American Women Quarters logo engraved on the top of the box. It includes a certificate of authenticity, along with an explanation of the ornament's design elements and a brief biography of the honoree.
