5 hryven UKRAINE 2017 - Poltava region

This coin celebrates the Poltava Oblast, an industrial and agricultural region located in the Middle Dnipro area. This area has a long history and has made a significant contribution to the formation of Ukrainian literature and culture. The oblast has produced a constellation of notable personalities, such as Gregory Skovoroda, Ivan Kotliarevskyi, Nikolai Gogol, Mykola Lysenko, Oles Honchar, Olena Pchilka, Panas Myrnyi and Vasyl Symonenko. Poltava Oblast is also home to the famous Reshetylivka carpets and Opishnia pottery. Fuel and power production, mining and quarrying, and mechanical engineering represent the largest shares in the oblast's current industry. The region is also known for its mineral waters from the Myrhorod spa.

(five hryvnias) (below); on the right is the mintmark of NBU Banknote Printing and Minting Works; in the center is the year of issue - 2017, to the right of which there is a vertical ornament; there is a composition that symbolizes the oblast: the Church of the Transfiguration in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi, the building of the spa in the village of Myrhorod; a lyre, an inkwell and a quill, symbols of creative writing; On the left is a conventional image of a KrAZ Hurricane, a vehicle produced at the Kremenchuk Automobile Plant, which is the only producer of cargo trucks in Ukraine; Below are ears of wheat, a pumpkin, grapes, an apple and a round flask that comes from Opishnia, the ceramics capital of Ukraine.
