Reverse depicts the main building of the university erected in the last third of the 19th century based on the design of architect Julian Zachariewicz. Above the building is the arch-shaped inscription LITTERIS * ET * ARTIBUS (for sciences and arts) existing on the building itself. There is also the circular inscription ???????????? ????????????? `????????? ???????????` (National University" Lviv Polytechnic ") and legend 165 / ????? (165/years) below.

The commemorative coins continue the series "Higher Education Establishments of Ukraine" and are dedicated to one of the oldest universities of technological development with a glorious history, that is, the Lviv National Polytechnic University, which is a vigorous center of science and education, generator of ideas and inventions.
