On the reverse of the $2 coin, the inner core adapts selected elements from Panel 29 of Jean Paul Riopelle's L'Hommage à Rosa Luxemburg, while the outer ring bears the centennial mark "Riopelle100" (courtesy of the Riopelle Foundation ). The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II made by Susanna Blunt. The obverse also bears a special mark that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have adorned Canadian coins and the double date of his reign.
