The coin is dedicated to one of the founders and hegumens of the Monastery from Kyiv Pechersk, Theodosius of the Caves (year of birth unknown: 1074). The Kyiv Pechersk Monastery flourished during his rule: It was full of people, had many churches and adopted the statute of the Studite monastic rules.
