10 euros FRANCE 2021 - Napoleon I "Bicentenary of his death"
In 2021, we will celebrate the bicentenary of the passing of Napoleon I. Therefore, this year will truly be the "Year of Napoleon" celebrated in France and internationally. Obviously, we couldn't miss this event and wanted to celebrate it not only from various angles of the heritage of this period of French history, but also through our different types of products.
This coin is shaped like a bicorn, the famous headdress, Napoleon's emblem.
On this side, we wanted to represent the different aspects of the Napoleonic period.
The grenadier guards, on the left, represent the battles of the military epic of the famous Grand Army, while the allegory of justice, on the right, taken from the preface of the civil code, symbolizes the civil reforms of this period. The link is established by the Legion of Honor, which acts as a pivot between the military and civil world by virtue of its status of distinction for "both worlds." The French cockade is also present.
We mention his date of death as well as the year 2021, his bicentennial.
Reverse : Against a background of the Austerlitz sun, several iconic symbols are depicted, such as the eagle, bees, laurels and the famous silhouette of the Emperor.
The laurel wreath is also depicted to remember his coronation. The word "RF" is present at the bottom right of the coin, as well as the seal of Joaquín Jiménez.
