For the release of her new album in 2020, Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to the world of Morris through a comprehensive collection of coins and medals. This series features illustrations by Achdé, a drawer of the new albums in the saga.
Obverse of this coin shows one of the plates from Lucky Luke's new album, "A Cowboy inHigh Cotton". We find here the character of Morris and his faithful JollyJumper, crossing a cotton field upon their arrival in Louisiana.
Reverse of the coin represents one of the most emblematic cartoons of the Franco-Belgian comic strip. Here, Lucky-Luke duels his own shadow and proves once again that he is the fastest marksman in the west. The mention "75ans" below the character's name celebrates the famous cowboy's birthday. Finally, the face value and the date of the year are also present on the reverse.
