€10 SPAIN 2023 - María Maeztu (Women's Day March 8)
On the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day, and paying tribute to the pedagogue and humanist María de Maeztu, the Royal Mint issues a new collector's coin, in sterling silver, dedicated to a woman champion of the struggle for education for women that would lead to equality and freedom for them.
The portrait of His Majesty King Felipe VI is reproduced on the obverse .
On the reverse of the coin appears the image "María de Maeztu, honorary doctorate from Smith College, 1919", which is preserved in the Archive of the Residencia de Señoritas (Fundación José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón); To its left is the symbol of the woman, the face value of 10 euros and the Mint mark. Surrounding these motifs and legends, the legends 8-M International Women's Day and María de Maeztu appear.
