10 euros SPAIN 2022 - 20th anniversary of the Euro

2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the introduction of euro banknotes and coins. 20 years ago, on January 1, 2002, 12 EU countries introduced euro banknotes and coins. Three years earlier, the first countries had fixed their exchange rates, adopted a shared monetary policy within the framework of the European Central Bank and launched their new common currency on global financial markets.

Today, the euro is the currency of 19 EU countries with more than 340 million people and the second most important currency in the world. Euro banknotes and coins are a tangible, everyday reminder of the freedom, convenience and opportunities made possible by the European Union.

20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE EURO

The image of His Majesty King Felipe VI appears on the obverse of the coin .

On the reverse of the coin, there appears a representation of Princess Europa, used as a holographic image on euro banknotes, and an image of a bull remembering Zeus in the abduction of Europa, to the left are the face value 10 EURO and the mint mark and to the right, at the top, twelve stars appear. At the bottom, in capital letters and in a circular direction, appears the legend XX ANNIVERSARY OF THE EURO.
