1/4 euro FRANCE 2021 - Paris Olympic Games "JUDO sports series"
On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to these renowned international competitions through a collection that pays tribute to sport, its value, the athletes but also the heritage of the host country. The Olympic and Paralympic Games are celebrated.
In 2021, three sports will be included on classic collector coins: judo, swimming and wheelchair tennis. In the following years and until 2024, there will be four sports per year. This coin is part of the series that will honor, over the next three years, the athlete at the heart of its movement.
On the obverse , special attention has been paid to the treatment of postures and attitudes to convey the concentration of the athlete and the intensity of the moment.
On this coin, it is wheelchair tennis that is illustrated with a player serving.
The reverse of the series features a view of Paris where the Seine looks like a running track. The Eiffel Tower dominates the city and illuminates the competition.
