The commemorative coin is dedicated to a string-strumming instrument, well-known in Ukraine: tsymbaly (variety of hammered dulcimer) which It consists of a trapezoidal wooden frame with metal ropes, which are play with two beaters (sticks or hammers) against the strings. The tsymbaly (pl.) They have a wide musical palette and are used by popular instrumental ensembles (for example, troisti muzyky - a sort of three-instrument consort; troisti = triple).

Obverse , A fan-shaped relief on the coin symbolically represents a tsymbaly melody. There is a baroque decorative pattern e inscriptions in simulated Cossack script, above - ???????????? ???? ??????? (National Bank of Ukraine), below - 2006/5 / ??????? (hryvnias) and the NBU Mint logo.
Reverse there is a tsymbaly painting surrounded by a baroque decorative pattern and inscriptions in simulated Cossack script: ??????? (tsymbaly).
