This coin celebrates the 270th anniversary of the birth of the famous Ukrainian composer, choral conductor, music teacher, reformer of sacred music and one of the founders of the classical music tradition - Dmytro Bortnianskyi. Bortnianskyi composed operas, choral, symphonic, chamber and instrumental works, which reflect musical themes of Ukrainian folk songs. His church vocal style was a pinnacle of art at the time, and his work influenced the development of Ukrainian music in later centuries.
Obverse : there is the following stylized composition: on the background of baroque floral elements there are handwritten scores, above which there are six-winged seraphim, symbolizing the greatness of the composer's spiritual music and his desire to get closer to the divine; Below, on a plain background, is the legend ?????N? (Ukraine) (written in the script RutheniaDecor © 2016 Vasyl Chebanyk), below which is the small coat of arms of Ukraine; to the left of the coat of arms is the face value of the currency - 2 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; To the right of the shield is the year of issue of the coin 20/21; Below on the right, on a plain background, is the mint mark of the NBU banknote printing and minting works.
