In 2020, the Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to a new event that has marked history and spirit as part of the "Human History" collection. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the peace brought by the end of World War II, this coin takes the form of the symbol of the Allied force: the V.
Obverse of the coin are the flags of the Allied nations of World War II. These flags carry heraldic color codes. The inscription "75 ans Victoire - Victory" appears on the right and refers to the anniversary of the Allied victory over Nazi Germany. The coin is shaped like a trapezoid with a V composed of flags symbolizing Victory, an innovation for Monnaie de Paris.
Reverse of the coin represents the flight of doves. These doves are synonymous with peace. The bird in the foreground has its wings spread in a V shape, echoing the Allied victory over Nazi Germany. The face value, year date and the word "RF" are also visible on this reverse.
