Like every year, the 30 euro coin raises a lot of expectations among both regular and occasional collectors. This year's was not going to be any less, and although we already knew the theme to which it would be dedicated, which I mentioned here last July 4, knowing the image it will present is almost the most important thing when deciding whether to acquire it or not. I think that the best assessment is made with the first impact it gives us the first time we see it, and if I base it on that, I really liked it. We'll see what you think.
I remind you, for those of you who still do not know, that the 30 euro 2021 coin is dedicated to "Holy Year Xacobeo 21-22". Exceptionally, this Xacobeo is celebrated throughout the year 2021 and 2022. This decision was a consequence of the unanimous request that Galicia issued to the Holy See with the objective that pilgrims would have the possibility of visiting the Cathedral of Santiago safely despite the current circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the reverse, occupying the central part of the coin, an allegorical image of the "road" appears with a pilgrim and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Above this image, horizontally and in capital letters, the value of the piece 30 EURO, and the Ceca mark. On the left, in an ascending circular direction, the legend XACOBEO 21·22, accompanied by a representation of the pilgrim's staff.
At the bottom left, and within a circle, a scallop shell, 21·22, the mint mark and an arrow appear in the form of a quadruple latent image. Surrounding the motives and legends one pearl beading.
On the obverse, the superimposed effigies of Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia are reproduced. At the top of the coin, in a circular sense and in capital letters, the legend FELIPE VI Y LETIZIA. At the bottom of the coin, in capital letters, the legend SPAIN and the year of minting 2021, separated by a fleur-de-lys. Surrounding the motives and legends one pearl beading.
