2 euro coin of FRANCE 2018 in bleuet commemoration

The year 2018 marks the Centenary of the end of the First World War.

The memory and the flower of solidarity, Bleuet of France symbolizes the recognition of every man and woman who sacrificed for their country. The cornflower is chosen to recall the blue view visible on the uniforms of young new soldiers. These were named " bleuets " by the older soldiers. Blue is also the color of the French nation because it represents the first color of the French flag.

The reverse of the coin is that of the standard 2 euro coin, found in all euro area countries.
