 From the German Ministry of Finance we receive the image that
 will present the commemorative 2 euro coin to be issued in 2020, in the
 that portrays the historical event that occurred on December 7,
 1970, when Chancellor Willy Brandt knelt before the monument
 commemorative of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, where they died
 thousands of Jews victims of the Nazis during World War II. The
 coin commemorates this fact under the name "50th Anniversary of the
 Warsaw genuflection. 

 Designed
 by artist Bodo Broschat, the coin shows the moment when
 then German chancellor kneels as a gesture of humility in front of the
 monument to the heroes of the Warsaw ghetto. The composition is illustrated
 in reference to the ghetto uprising of 1943, considered the most 
famous Jewish resistance attempt against the Germans. a chandelier
 of 7 arms, one of the oldest symbols of Judaism, presides over the
 scene. Willy Brandt would later write about this act in his
 memoirs: “On the brink of the abyss of German history and under the weight of
 the millions murdered, I did what men do when they are missing
 words".
 This coin will be put into circulation in October 2020, with an issuance volume yet to be determined.
